A DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUEST :
It might be helpful if the user could customize JLabel's policy for how to
truncate text (e.g., to truncate on the left instead of the right, or
in the middle, or according to a passed-in policy object).

JUSTIFICATION :
I haven't yet investigated know to customize the behavior currently, so I
don't know how hard that is, to judge whether the enhancement is necessary.
