The above link is just one example. All (as it seems) links to the Serialization Specification inside the J2SE API docs are broken. This is true for both the on-line and the downloadable version.

For an example see the documentation of java.io.ObjectOutputStream, there is a link to "Object Serialization Specification, Section 2, Object Output Classes".
