Problem Description : J2RE/J2SDK Installation failure on Windows XP Prof SP1

Tested_Java_Release : 1.5.0
Tested_Build : j2re.exe / j2sdk.exe
Tested_Build_Location : /net/altair.east/terra/space11/deployment/tiger-archives/2003-07-10/
Tested_Machine_OS : Win XP PROF (Service Pack 1) ONLY

Steps to Reproduce
------------------

# Install the j2re.exe/j2sdk on a Win XP Professional

Result : installation stops in the middle, after extracting the files and hangs in between.

OBSERVATIONS :
--------------
* Now check the task manager for the active and you could see javaw.exe and
  javaws.exe were running
* Tried installing after celaning the registry, base image created under the dir
  (${user_home}/Local Settings) and the problem still exists.
* When javaws.exe processes was killed the installation got completed
* But after installation couldn't launch the JaWS or control panel
