A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
The method compareTo(Timestamp)is only applied for JDK 1.4. When we use it in jdk 1.3, there is a run time error, it indicates that method does't exist. But the 1.4 document says that the method is availabe sine 1.2
