A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
This bug has been registrated once before (4189228), and at that time it was not an error but it is now
The text from the original rapport is listed here and is still valid:
Using a keyboard, the JComboBox does not select the item you type in, e.g. if
you have three records in it "Igloo", "Parsnip", "Pig".
Type 'p' and the parsnip is selected, then press 'i' and the igloo is
selected. If this was a Microsoft programming language the pig
would be selected and the igloo would only be selected if you pause between
character strokes. This Microsoft behaviour is far
more useful if you have a large list (we have a combobox containing 7000
customer names) where if you type 'c' there are still
another 150 records between the first 'c' and 'Chase'. You implement the
behaviour I would expect of a listbox. Not useful I'm
afraid.
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
it can be seen in the Swing demo SwingSet2 !
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
