Problem: English text in test application is very rough (not smooth)

To reproduce:

1. Untar attached test case
1. Compile attached test case (LocaleSpecificDisplay.java).
2. launch test case
% java LocaleSpecificDisplay
3. Notice the English description text all displayed in a rough font

This problem started from Tiger b10 with the same test, previous build b09 and earlier builds are fine, the problem does not show in 1.4.2.

The problem does not show on Solaris 8 or Solaris 9, or Windows XP.
