Since 1.4 J2SE has bundled an ISCII91 character converter.
Although the ISCII91 standard supports multiple Indic writing systems the converter
is limited to the Devanagari script subsets. Multiscript support for
Telugu, Ghujurati, Bengali, Gurmukhi are not supported within the provided
ISCII91 converter. This limitation needs to be indicated within the current J2SE
documentation bundle:
