See also CR 4906080 in BugTraq 2.0. I was advised to file this bug report in Bugtraq+.
When entering text in a text field in Mozilla, if you change to another window and back, you can no longer enter text anywhere in Mozilla. I have this problem several times per day, but the problem does not show up all the time. Robin Lu and Jay Yan say it's a known problem with the Java plugin.
Here is a reliable way to reproduce the problem:
Go to the crosswords on Yahoo games:
http://games.yahoo.com/games/cw.hf2k
Select a puzzle, wait for it to display.
Click on an empty square and enter some letters.
Open a new browser window and do a google search.
Go back to the crossword puzzle, and notice that you cannot make any entries.
Go to a command window and type anything, then back to the crossword puzzle.
Now you can make entries.
The crosswords are not the only time I have this problem, but the problem is 100% reproducible with crosswords.
I'm using Mozilla 1.2.1 final from /usr/dist, and I'm running CDE (not Gnome) on Solaris 9 update 4 on an Ultra-60 workstation.
I guessed at the Subcategory and the Release fields. You probably need to adjust them.
