OS - Sun Desktop Mercury - fcs (b12)
      host name - fontana (SCA14 - 3360)
      Browser - Mozilla1.4
      bundles - j2re.rpm

      Steps to reproduce -

      1) Install j2re1.5.0 b-30 rpm bundles from the following location -

      /net/koori.sfbay/p/jdk08/jdk/1.5.0/beta/b30/bundles/linux-i586/j2re-1_5_0-beta-bin-b30-linux-i586-03_dec_2003.rpm

      2) Create the soft link for Plugin registration with Mozilla1.4. (Mozilla1.4 is bundled under - /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4)

      3) Open the Java Control Panel and make sure that java console is disabled.

      4) Make sure that the caching is enabled.

      5) Invoke the Mozilla1.4 browser and run the following demo applet -

      /net/koori.sfbay/p/jdk08/jdk/1.5.0/beta/b30/binaries/linux-i586/demo/plugin/applets/Clock/example1.html

      6) The browser crashes 9 out of 10 times.

      Note -
      1) When I installed the j2re1.5.0 b-30 sh bundle, the above applet does not crash with the same scenario as described above (Console disabled)

      2) If the console is enabled, then the above applet passes.

      3) Disabling the cache reduces the chances of the browser crash to about half.
