A DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUEST :
The Java Plug-in should provide an easy install of optional packages. Why not add an extra tab in the Plug-in control panel. Preferable should the user just need to select the optional functionality that he/she would like add/have.

Include following functionality:
[ ] Audio and video capture/playback (JMF)
[ ] 3D rendering support
[ ] Advanced imaging functionality

This should also be tied together with Java WebStart. When an application that deploys one or more optional package is downloaded via Java WebStart, the user should be prompted the possibility to also download the required package(s).

JUSTIFICATION :
Just about every other product technology has this level of convenience. Nowadays.
