Develpper Tools Sun ONE Studio and Netbeans will be released on cd bundled
with JDS Quicksilver release.

These developer ide products need the full jdk to run, not just jre.


JDS Quicksilver comes with just the jre.

On JDS, there are some added or fixed font.properties and other files needed
to be added to the jre 1.4.2.04 that it comes with so that Asian fonts can
be seen properly.

A patch or other fix is being provided by jdk team to jds team for inclusion
in the jre in JDS quicksilver to fix this issue.

The supported jdk for the developer tools that will be bundled with JDS quicksilver is jdk 1.4.2.04.

Even if jdk 1.4.2.05 has these fixes, it will not be in time for the
schedule release of the developer tools, which is at same time as
JDS quicksilver release.

===> A jdk 1.4.2.04 that has been patched/fixed with the required fixes/files
to enable the proper viewing of Asian characters is needed so that it can
be included in the install of the developer tools products on JDS quicksilver.

This fixed/patched jdk is needed soon and we assume that patch for jre in jds
could be adapted to jdk, and its important that the jdk we give to cusomers
be an official, supported jdk.
