The Control Panel behaves inconsistently as regards the escape key functionality. Typically, any application window that has a cancel button on it can be cancelled when the escape key is pressed. This can be seen in any native application (take netscape preference for instance). In the Control Panel, the escape key does not work in most places. The only place where it works is in the 'Delete Temporary Files' window.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:
1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Press the escape key - nothing happens.
3. Click on any of the buttons such as 'Network Settings' or 'Settings' in the General tab.
4. Press the escape key - nothing happens.
5. Cancel any open windows from the previous step by clicking the cancel button.
6. Click the 'Delete Files' button. The 'Delete Temporary Files' window comes up. Press the escape key - the window disappears.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR:
Any window including the main Control Panel window that has a cancel button should be cancelled whenever the escape key is pressed.
