I used the image tag to display a custom image within the graybox while the applet is loading, but no image is displayed. However, sometimes the image is displayed maybe a second or two just before the applet is loaded. Plus, if you continuously click on the browser refresh button after the applet is loaded, you may or maynot see the image for a quick second or two.

Without the image tag, the animation is displayed.
