A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
This bug is indentical to #4238829, except the posted fix for it, is broken under the Motif L & F, since the com.sun.java.swing.plaf.motif.MotifComboBoxUI overrides the paintCurrentValue() method buts does not implement the fix that was included in BasicComboBoxUI.

REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.

CUSTOMER SUBMITTED WORKAROUND :
I used the same workaround in my renderer as described in the workaround for bug #4238829.
