Found with J2SE 1.5.0 beta2 b51.

Steps to reproduce:
run the control panel from specified build under italian locale - most illustrative
on General Tab click on Settings button
notice the truncated labels under the jar compression slider.
The label is too long to fit in the space allocated.

Bug is reproducible always, on Solaris, various linux (RHAS3.0 and RH9.0 tested).
Bug does not appear on windows (tested on XP Pro it).
