The following jre installation notes still say tiger requires "Solaris7".
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/jre/install-solaris.html
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/ja/jre/install-solaris.html
"Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition, v. 1.5.0 requires Solaris 7, Solaris 8, or Solaris 9 Operating System. For disk requirements, see System Configurations."
should take away Solaris 7 as it's not supported.
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/jre/install-solaris.html:
The Note at the buttom of the page:
"Note About Location of Java VM Library Files: If you want to use the Invocation API to launch an application directly rather than using the Java application launcher, please see Location of VM Library Files (libjvm.so)."
"Location of VM Library Files (libjvm.so)" links to "http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/jre/install-solaris.html#libjvm.so", which doesn't look like a correct link.

4. You can skip this step if you intend to install the 64-bit version Java 2 SDK 1.5.0 in a non-default location. For more details, see Selecting the Default Java Platform.
"Selecting the Default Java Platform" links to wrong place?
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/compatibility.html page still shows:
J2SE 1.5.0 Beta 1
also, in the middle of this page:
NOTE: As of J2SE 1.5.0 Beta 1, this compatibility page is not complete. We plan on completing it for Beta 2.
Is this page up-to-date?
jgray: Yes it is as of beta 2.
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/install-windows-64.html
Known Problems session shows wrong characters:
The Beta installer has a bug where it fails to remove temporary .pack files when it is done. The files are located in two lib directories; assuming the SDK was installed into C:?A`Program Files?A`Java?A`jdk1.5.0, you could manually remove them from:
C:?A`Program Files?A`Java?A`jdk1.5.0?A`lib?A`*.pack
C:?A`Program Files?A`Java?A`jdk1.5.0?A`jre?A`lib?A`*.pack
