It happens on JDS with JDK 1.4.2_04, JDK 1.4.2_05, JDK 1.5.0 build 57. Directory is in nfs mount. It does not happen on the same folder when run on Solaris 9 or RedHat 9. We need at least some workaround if available. Test case is attached.

I tested again and this command does not finish on that machine. (We tested it before but we probably tested only 'mount' on that machine.) You can close this issue.

Unfortunately it happens again this time on another machine with "sh -c mount" command. In this case it works fine on command line and hangs with java test case. I starts to hang when many nfs automounts from another machine is mounted (more than 40 mounts instead of 10). Please do you have any idea how to diagnose it?

I can reproduce it also on RH9. First I must mount many mounts so output from mount is long. Then java test hangs even if the same command "mount" from command line works fine.

I tried "cat tt" where tt is text file of size 8984 bytes. On command line is works, java test hangs. When I cat another smaller file with size 2722 bytes it works. It looks like it depends on size command output. It has nothing to do with nfs. It seems there is some limit where it hangs. (It is completely different from previous df command which did not finish even on command line.)
