I am running the Regression test - TestImageTypes.java on WinXP using the latest tiger build (b61). When the application is active, I am changing the screen resolution to a different resolution through windows display settings. When the display resolution gets changed, VM crashes. This is reproducible on Nvidia Geforce4 Mx 4000 and Intel Onboard graphics controller - Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV graphics controller. This is reproducible since JDK1.4.2 and this passing on 1.4, 1.4.1. Hence this is a regression introduced in 1.4.2. I tested this with Tiger-rc-b61 on WinXP Professional.

I have attached the test to this bug report. Execute the test. When the frame is visible, try to change the resolution to a different value. As soon as the resolution changes, you would notice the VM crash on the console. I have attached the logfile herewith. I took this regression test from /test/sun/java2d/volatileImage location in Jano.sfbay.
