I am looking for some assistance on the following issue. This is also in reference to external developer issue 295697.

CURRENT ISSUE: Customer has web server running on Windows Server 2000. Client machines are running a JRE 1.3.1_x with SSL. When they access the applet, the JARs are being reloaded each time the JRE is restarted instead of caching to disk. It is possible to force the applet to cache vi applet tags, but when used in conjuction with SSL, the applet hangs. Situation is same for JRE 1.4.2 .

WORKAROUND: The current workaround is that the customers should upgrade to Windows Server 2003 and clients to JRE 1.4.2 where the problem does not exist. However, moving to Windows Server 2003 at customer sites is not an option.

DESIRED SOLUTION: Ideally, Sun would be able to provide a solution for the Win2K and JRE1.3.1 solution, but I believe any Win2K workaround will suffice.

      Sample testcase available upon request.
