Java Update From the control panel applet is slow on XP (with any service pack) when downloading from the server. The same process in other Windows versions takes about 15 seconds, on XP it can take between 1 minute to 5 minutes. The subsequent install works fine.
Other tested OSs are Win 2000, 2003. No Issues on these platforms.
This behaviour has been notable since changes made to the test java.sun.com update server yesterday (18th Aug 2004) on webwork.sfbay.

------------
To clarify:
this occurs at the initial download stage of the iftw.exe file immediately after initiating the update from the applet. /only/ on XP home or pro with all service pack combinations.
