EXTRA RELEVANT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION :
My main documents directory (My Documents) is on a network drive, Y. Due to network problems, I need to type my samba password when I first access that directory after reboot/login. This means that opening My Documents from applications does not work.
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
My main documents directory (My Documents) is on a network drive, Y. Due to network problems, I need to type my samba password when I first access that directory after reboot/login. This means that opening My Documents from applications does not work.
After starting the install program and waiting a few seconds, the install program reports "Y: not found" and aborts the installation.
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
- Make sure the users documents directory cannot be read.
- Start JDK install program.
- Observe error message. JDK does not continue install
EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
The error message is ok, but the install program should've continued. The documents directory should not be essential to the installation.
ACTUAL -
Installation aborted.
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
