JAVA VERSION:-
---------------
java version "1.6.0-beta"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.6.0-beta-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.6.0-beta-b04, mixed mode)
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:-
--------------------
1. Compile and execute the attached test in Metal, Motif and GTKLookAndFeel.
In the test a button is attached to the JTabbedPane. In Metal and Motif l&f you can see that the insets are proper that is there is some space in right, left, top and bottom of button with JTabbedPane border. But this is not the case with GTKLookAndFeel.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR:-
--------------------
In GTK l&f also there should be some space in right, left, top and bottom of the button with JTabbedPane border.
ACTUAL BEHAVIOUR :-
--------------------
Button is rendered till the border of the JTabbedPane.
