Firefox version 1.0 PR is now using the IE-like auto-download mechanism but after completing the JRE installation, it does not AUTOMATICALLY load the applet which initiates the auto-download in the first place. It certainly creates some confusion for Firefox users. They do not see the applet loaded after JRE installation. They have to open a new session of Firefox and load the applet. The auto-download process on IE is very clear to users.
