Short-cut keys do not make sense for Menus and hence must be ignored when it is set for a menu instead of a menuitem. This works as expected on Win32 and Solaris-Motif toolkit. But on XToolkit, the defined shortcut keys are shown against the menus but they don't work. This is misleading and must be fixed in such a way that shortcut keys must be shown only if it a menu item or a checkbox menuitem.
This is reproducible only on XToolkit with Solaris / Linux. This is not reproducible on Win32 and Motif toolkit. Reproducible since Tiger.
I have attached a sample test. Execute the sample test on XToolkit. Click on the File menu. If the 2 sub-menus listed under 'File' (open, Save) show the shortcut keys, the bug is reproduced.
