Currently, JCE uses DashoPro2.3 for obfuscation. This version of DashoPro does not support the 1.5 class file format and thus when compiling JCE, the source and binary format is limited to 1.4. Now that PreEmptive releases DashoPro3.1 which has full support for 1.5 class file format, JCE should migrate to 3.1 accordingly.
