Javahelp has been used to implement the JDSHelp system on the Java Desktop System. The predecessor of JavaHelp on JDS was an application developed by the GNOME community, Yelp.
The following screenshot shows the HTML output of both of these applications, Javahelp first, then Yelp:
http://gnome.ireland/doc_proj_team/Tools/jdshelp/screenshots/jdshelp-HTML-rendering.png
Note the following:
1. Too much space after page title in Javahelp.
2. Not enough space between body text and table in Javahelp.
3. No left margin in Javahelp.
4. Table borders look rather primitive in Javahelp.
5. In Javahelp, 'valign="top"' attribute ignored in table body rows, so all content is vertically aligned to the bottom of the cell.
6. In Javahelp, the character inserted between menuchoice items is a hyphen followed by a greater-than sign (->). In Yelp, an image is used.
