Hindi & Thai text not highlighted correctly in text-editing components(JTextArea,..) on RHAS3.0

XMLWordPrintable

    • Cause Known
    • 5.0
    • 5.0
    • x86
    • linux

      jdk version : 1.6.0
      current build : b14
      Platform :RHAS 3.0
      Locales : Hindi & Thai
      Testsuite used : GS08

1)Login with 'hi' or 'th' locales.
      2)Launch the testsuite GlobalSuite GS08 & use script runnit.sh from <..>/ii18n_tiger_ws/i18n/src/GS/
3)when testcases like JTextArea / JTextField.. are running try shading any one of the text row using the mouse.
      Observation:
The text is not highlighted properly --especially the below / above area of hi/th word. Please see the attached sample files showing the shaded region for hi locale. Observe the below area of shaded part in both these image files & find they are not included in the shared part.
      >>>this gives impression that it might not get pasted if done copy/paste to another area

      1) Now just try copying that shaded region & pasting it to some other row on same testcase window. As soon as you paste, first the pasted text looks like the left out part in the highlighted word is not pasted/properly.
Just minimize the window & maximize again--the text with the word is completely visible & is correct as a complete word

      >>>The highlighting & pasting operations seems as though it is not working fine on RHAS 3.0, but when window is minimized/maximized , the refreshed screen looks fine with pasted text seen correctly
