Tested Build: JDK 1.5.0_02 - build 07
O/S: Sun Sparc 9/ Sparc 10
Browser: NS 7.0
Problem:
-------
Can not change the xvals and yvals in the "Dither Test" plugin demo. This problem occurs on solaris sparc in JDK 1.5.0_02 release and it appears to be related to the focus problem (see the work around). It does not occur in JDK 6.0
Steps to reproduce:
------------------
1) Install JDK 1.5.0_02 build 07 on the solaris sparc 9 or 10 machine
2) Configure NS 7.0 to use JRE 1.5.0_02- build 07
3) Launch the DitherTest demo (example1.html) bundled with JDK 1.5.0_02
(or you can run the same demo at
/java/re/jdk/1.5.0_02/promoted/fcs/b07/binaries/solaris-sparc/demo/plugin/applets/DitherTest/example1.html
)
4) When the applet comes up,
- first, try to change the color (both horizontal and vertical"
- second, click on "New Image" to generate the new image
- third, try to change the xvals and yvals in the data fields.
The problem is that these xvals/yvals data fields are not editable at this time, you can not enter anything.
* The workaround is to point the cursor outside of the applet window and then point it back. These data fields are now editable and you can update the data there.
This problem can not be reproducible in JDK 6.0-b24 and it seems to work fine on windows using 1.5.0_02 build 07 too.
