FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
java version "1.6.0-ea"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.6.0-ea-b16)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.6.0-ea-b16, mixed mode, sharing)
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
My (signed/trusted) JWS application specifies that it should add a desktop and a Start Menu shortcut.
Consider this scenario:
1. The user runs it for the first time from my website, and the desktop and menu shortcuts are created
2. The user closes the application
3. The user deletes the desktop shortcut
4. The user runs the application from the Start Menu
At this point, JWS will re-create the desktop shortcut, even though the user obviously did not want it there.
I think JWS should only create shortcuts on the first run, or when the JNLP file has been updated and a new shortcut is specified in the updated file.
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
