Please pass -J-client to javac in the Makefiles. This should
speed up javac significantly on "big" solaris-sparc machines.
Currently, we are experienceing problems building on these machines
due to what we think is a server VM bug. This would workaround
that issue.

Also consider adding -encoding ascii at the same time.
