Tiger adds an important spec statement to the Window class description
stating that the window management system can modify or ignore requests
for changing window geometry. However, there's no mention that showing
a window may change window geometry as well. Many JCK tests relied that
such resize wouldn't happen and failed on implementations that severely
restrict allowed geometry.
