The JMX Remote API spec is unclear as to what a new connector protocol implementation must do to be compliant with the spec. If I create a new connector that uses AppleTalk, say, then:
* Does it have to recognize all or any of the jmx.remote.* properties defined in section 7 of the JMX Remote API spec?
* What notification semantics must it guarantee?
* Must it be able to serialize all Java classes or only some?
Etc.
The answers to these questions aren't clear and may require discussion within the JSR 255 Expert Group.
