OS tested - Win XP Home SP2
Steps to reproduce -
1) On a system, install Firefox 1.0.X and Mozilla 1.7.X. Get these from:
http://www.mozilla.org/
http://www.mozilla.org/releases/#1.7.6
2) prior to install 1.6.0 on both systems, install 1.5.0_0X then 1.4.2_0X, so that 1.4.2_0X is the registered version with Mozilla
3) install 1.6.0 on both systems.
4) Launch Mozilla 1.7.6 and inspect that the Java version is 1.6.0.
5) Launch Firefox 1.0.X and inspect that the Java version is 1.6.0.
6) On Moz 1.7.X and Firefox 1.0.X, type "about:plugins" at the url window. Check for npDeployHelper which will be shown as listed. However, as per the spec, it should NOT be listed.
When the same above procedures are applied to Mozilla 1.8.1 and Firefox 1.1, the npDeployHelper is listed as per the spec.
