on winxp, with jre1.6.0_b38 16/05/2005 build, IE6.0, firefox1.0.3
1. On winxp,network settings,Select TCP/IP protocol.
    Set Primary DNS server to point to DNS server use 129.148.174.231
     Alternate DNS server can be local site DNS server,such as 129.158.166.21(For Beijing site).

2.On IE,from options->connections->LAN setting, select Use automatic configuration script in the LAN network settings, enter the following URL: http://wpad.sun.com/wpad.dat, unchecked proxy seeting.close IE.

3.Open IE, launch to any applet, then IE CRASHES.

4.open Firefox1.0.3, from options,Connection settig, select Auto-detect Proxy Setting for this network,close Firefox.

5.Open firefox and launch any applet, firefox crashes.

Since no any error thrown by IE.
Open IE by VC, see the following error, and attached a picture.

1.cd /etc, Add or update resolv.conf file, such as :
     domainName wpad.eri.PRC.Sun.COM
     nameserver 129.148.174.231
2.cd /etc, Update the nsswitch.conf file to use DNS to resolve names

Change the /etc/nsswitch.conf file to use DNS before NIS I.e.

Hosts: dns nis[NOTFOUND=return] files

3.on firefox directory, creat symble link to new jre.
4.open firefox, from edit, preference Connection Settings, select “Auto-detect Proxy Settings for this network”. close firefox.
5.Open firefox, launch any applet, then firefox crashes.
