The Spanish language names provided by the JRE are inconsistently capitalized, that is, some begin with a capital letter, others are all lower-case. The convention is that JRE language names should use the case that would be appropriate for use in the middle of a sentence. The specification of java.util.Locale.getDisplayLanguage gives the example of the French word for English, anglais, in lower-case.
