Problem description :
Call to API getClass().getResource(resource_name) is returning NULL inside an applet from mustang b-38 onwards. It's working fine inside an application. Inside an applet it's behavior is correct till mustang b-37 and also it's working fine with tiger

Steps to reproduce:
1) Install JRE from above mentioned locations and on unix register browser with the newly installed JRE
2) Load the following applet
http://sqeweb.sfbay.sun.com/deployment2/jitu/plug-bug/getResource/AppletGetResource.html
3) If java.lang.NullPointerException is getting thrown on the java console and "null" is getting painted inside an applet against "Resource URL" then bug is reproduced

The applet will work fine with all the mustang releases till b37 and tiger
