in com.sun.deploy.util.UIManager, we always set the look and feel to the SystemLookAndFeel, even when running on gnome2 using old jre's.
When running with 1.3 or 1.4 JRE's we should continue to use the default lookandfeel, which looks more polished (this does not apply to windows platforms.
see the attached images, sec1.3.0.gtk.jpg and sec1.4.0.gtk.jpg show the security dialogs using the system look and feel, and sec1.3.0.jlf.jpg and sec1.4.0.jlf.jpg show the same dialogs using the default look and feel.
