A DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUEST :
I'm trying to automate the installation of a JRE and my Webstart application.
Java Webstart only seems to indicate success or failure of the -import command-line if -silent is specified. The problem is that if -silent is specified, the user is not prompted for permission to add shortcuts to the desktop. Because most users don't know how to enter the Webstart control page (which lists all installed applications) they won't know how to run the application without the desktop icons.
We should be able to assess the success/failure of -import without the silent switch.
JUSTIFICATION :
No way to automate webstart application installation in a reliable way
