When you do the full install of cygwin then you will get link.exe and cl.exe. If they have cygwin on the PATH ahead of VC++ then they will run into the errors during the hotspot build.

We should add a sanity check and see if the build is picking up the link.exe from cygwin then if so stop build right away or improve the current link.exe and cl.exe sanity check to add more information.
