Component's cursor is shown all over the frame when ALT key is down, WinXP

Cursor should change to default cursor when ALT key is pressed. The default cursor should be shown on all components/containers until the user clicks somewhere or presses the ALT key again.

I have a JTextArea and I have set the cursor to WAIT cursor. I am moving the mouse inside the JTeaxtArea and wait cursor is shown. Now I am pressing ALT key and cursor changes to def cursor. But after a few seconds, the cursor changes back automatically to wait cursor even when ALT key is not released and the wait cursor is shown wherever I move the mouse inside the frame (though it is set only for the text field).

This is reproducible on Tiger as well as Mustang on WinXP. But on Tiger, the cursor changes to def cursor when I take the mouse out of frame and come back again.

To reproduce, run the attached test. Click on Open button. Move the mouse inside the TextField. Check whether Wait Cursor is shown. Wait for the Tooltip. Once Tooltip appears, Press the ALT key. Check whether the cursor changes to def cursor. Wait till the tooltip disappear. Now try moving the mouse all over the screen. You will see WAIT cursor being shown everywhere.
