http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/net/URL.html has a link to http://archive.ncsa.uiuc.edu/SDG/Software/Mosaic/Demo/url-primer.html, which is no longer a good URL.

This was found in the 1.4.2 javadoc as well as 1.5. For what it's worth, http://www.socs.uts.edu.au/MosaicDocs-old/url-primer.html seems to be working. Maybe you could check with uts.edu.au and see if they plan on keeping their archive going for an extended period.
