Steps to reproduce:

Find a RHEL3.0AS machine (x86).
Install jdk1.3.1_18.

Run Bigapps vtest (see test procedure document):

Use the -Xprof flag. For example: ksh runvtest,v2.1.2_ts.ksh -Xprof

After a few iterations the test hangs. This behaviour occurs with 1.3.1_18b01, 1.3.1_17b02 and 1.3.1_16b06.

When run without the flag the tests run as normal. This has been reproduced on two machines.
This CR is reproducible on Solaris and Windows.
Further Investigation:

This behaviour occurs with 1.3.1fcs and 1.3.1_13. It is not a Regression.
