Details

    Description

This is a request to reopen this bug, cause it's still happening at least on JDK1.4.2_04 and JDK1.5.0_06. I have reproduced it on my laptop. It can always be reproduced.

OS: Microsoft Windows XP SP2, version 5.1 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519: Service Pack 2)
      java version "1.5.0_06"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_06-b05, mixed mode, sharing)
Microsoft Chinse Pinyin input method, version 3.0

The test case is almost the same as the bug 4833605 reported except that you need to explicitly change the input method to Microsoft Pinyin after the JOptionPane shows the dialog box and before clicking the OK button. One more thing needs to be added is that the About dialog of Microsoft Pinyin appears very shortly (maybe about 1/10 sec on my laptop) and then disappeared. I guess it'll stay longer on a slow machine or a heavily loaded machine. Anyway, it should be catchable by eyes. The consequence is exactly as the 4833605 evaluation said, the command prompt was disabled. Actually, I can not focus on it to close and have to kill it by using the task manager.
The problem persists on JDK6 as well. Below is the detail information.

      D:\Temp>java -version
      java version "1.6.0-beta2"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0-beta2-b86)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.6.0-beta2-b86, mixed mode, sharing)
      Steps to re-produce:
      1. Start "java TestUI".
      2. Open the MS Pinyin Chinese Input Method.
      3. Press OK button which is in the middle. (Snap shot attached, see snap1.jpg)
      4. The program exits, however, left the cmd.exe in the disable mode, can't focus on it, can't move it, can't put in a word.(Snap shot attached, see snap2.jpg)
