Managed Add-Ons is a feature of Internet Explorer 6 and 7 on XPSP2 that allows the user to view and enable or disable individual ActiveX controls and add-ons. You can access this tool by clicking Tools -> Manage Add-ons -> Enable or Disable Add-ons. Within the Manage Add-ons interface, users are able to see the control’s Name and Publisher. Since many times users make trust decisions about controls based on this information it’s important that we sign out controls so that users are confident that the control was developed by us.
Attached is a screen-shot showing which controls we should sign.
