There are reports from the field that the HPROF monitor=y option isn't working properly. The documentation is sparse, so what "properly" mesna may be a bit of a problem, but this needs investigation, along with a few testcases to test the option more.
Historically I don't think this option was ever really completed in the original HPROF, or was more of an experiment than anything else.
