Using a daily build of snv_55 which includes the new Gnome engine 'nimbus', I find that Java SE 6 GUIs do not pick up the correct font from GTK. This is reproducable in applications as simple as a JFrame with a single JLabel. A demonstration of the differences can be found in the attached PNG.
