A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
The Windows 32 bit JDK 6.0 installer at: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp will not open and does not give any error indication of what went wrong. Uninstalled JDK 5.0 to test, no joy. Re-downloaded the installer, no joy. Re-installed JDK 5.0 with success.

The netBeans 5.5 co-bundle with JDK 6.0 fails to install the JDK as well, netBeans 5.5 installed just fine.

The online install executable will not work either with no indication of why not. A window pop-up instantaneously, but too quickly to see what it says.

This is the first JDK 6.0 of any build I've tried to install.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
Simply downloading the off-line installer for both JDK 6.0 and the netBeans 5.5/JDK 6.0 co-bundle install executables from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp and double clicking does nothing. Calling either executable from a command window reveals nothing as well.

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
The installer to unpack and install the JDK at Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0
ACTUAL -
Nothing happens and no errors present themselves.

REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.

Sticking with JDK 5.0 until this gets resolved.
