A DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUEST :
The auto-download file for Java SE 6 does not appear to be available or listed at http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/deployment/deployment-guide/autodl-files.html.

Could you please advise whether a Java SE 6 Plugin auto-download file is available, and if so from where?

If a Java SE 6 Plugin auto-download file is not currently available, could you please advise whether one will be released, and if so, when it will be available?


JUSTIFICATION :
Java 1.5 (build 06 onwards) has removed the ability to force a specific JRE version to be used; so if a user installs Java SE 6, browsers will load applets using a Java 6 JRE.

In light of the above Java 1.5 change, we are prepared to migrate to the Java SE 6 platform, but can't because no auto-download file is available for Java SE 6.

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
We would like to see a Java SE 6 Plugin auto-download file.
ACTUAL -
There would appear to be no Java 6 Plugin auto-download file.

CUSTOMER SUBMITTED WORKAROUND :
Manually install Java SE 6.
