STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Go to your home directory and make sure it has the following files:
- "a"
- "b.gif"
- no other GIF files
2. - Launch the JFileChooser demo
- Select "Show JPG and GIF filters"
- Select "Windows LAF"
- Push "Show FileChooser" button
- Ensure that the "*" filter is chosen.
- Select "b.gif" file from the "Files" list on the right
- Type in 'Enter file name' text 'blablabla'
- Toggle filter menu and select "GIF image files (.gif)"
- Try to select "b.gif" file from the "Files" list on the right by mouse clicking

After this steps 'Enter file name' contains 'blablabla' instead of 'b.gif'.

The same problem may be in Metal/Synth/GTK LAFs.
