If aspell (spell checling tool) is active in SUSE (I use openSUSE 10.2), one can type the text in non-protected areas only. Attempt to type the text in protected box (e.g. Bugster password box) results in no asterisks and no real input. Closing aspell returns to normal behaviour.
I suspect that the issue takes place on more recent Java versions as well (by default openSUSE 10.2 comes with J2SE 5.10) but my openSUSE desktop environment is too unstable for such experiments.
Please investigate the issue because aspell comes with SUSE Enterprise as well.
